What does "fear" look like for you?
Anxiety and excitement can ride along for the journey - but they don’t get to drive!!
Happy Friday! TGIF, am I right? It’s your pal Kat, Owner + Operator of kat&co.
It’s officially my last Friday in LA, and I am surrounded by boxes… (internally screaming in panic) 😅
But one thing that I want to reinforce, mostly to myself in this moment, is that it is ok to do things scared. Fear and excitement feel eerily similar… and sometimes can act in tandem as a catalyst during big life transitions.
And here’s the thing... the “fear part” of me always shows up when I am working towards something big. In the past when I would start a new job, when I was starting therapy, when I started kat&co, and now packing up my home in LA. If I had to visualize what she looks like, I would say The Junk Lady from Labyrinth... she represents the feeling of trying to make me stay put, forget my purpose, and retire under a pile of STUFF:

If you haven’t seen Labyrinth, you are MISSING OUT on some top notch David Bowie screen time… ✨
She usually mumbles to me about all the ways this could go wrong, suggesting I give up for the day, or put off tasks that would continue to move me forward.
My point: We all have these inner passengers, or parts. Maybe yours include perfectionism, self-doubt, or overthinking. The trick is reminding them: they’re part of the carpool, but they don’t get to drive!
If you’re interested in learning more about parts work, scroll down - this week’s episode of Good Ideas + Bad Decisions is for you!
Reflection: How have fear, perfectionism, overthinking, or anxiety shown up for you lately? If you had to personify those parts of you, how would you describe them? How were these traits of yours helpful to you in the past… and are they still helpful now?

✨ Episode 010 of Good Ideas + Bad Decisions is out! 🎤
WOW WOW WOW, kind of pinching myself that we have TEN full length episodes out, and more in the editing bay! 🤯
