Need to change your routine?

A little reminder about perspective and creative spark

Happy Friday, fellow creatives! It’s your friend Kat, Owner + Operator of kat&co.

This week I’m writing to you from beautiful Napa CA, where I lived before relocating to Los Angeles in 2018. A good friend asked if I was available to kitty sit for the week, and I jumped at the chance to be in my favorite corner of the world (cat allergies be damned)! 🍷

Being back here reminded me of something that I know to be true but often forget:

Switching up your surroundings can shift your perspective in powerful ways.

I’m no scientist (don’t quote me), but I do believe in the magic of changing your routine. New sounds, smells, visuals - even a different way the light hits your workspace - can give your brain the space it needs to unlock fresh ideas and motivation.

Sometimes we get stuck, not because we’re uninspired, but because we’re overstimulated by the same inputs every day. A slight shift in your environment (a co-working day at a friend’s house, an afternoon in a new neighborhood, or morning journaling at your favorite coffee shop) can be enough to rewire your creative flow.

Co-work vacation, anyone?

Here are some views that are inspiring me this week:

Reflection - What’s one small way you could change your routine this month? Is there a mid-week day you can use for a local field trip or creative reset? What are some areas in your business or personal life that could use some fresh inspiration?

I’m excited to share that Episode 004 of Good Ideas + Bad Decisions is out!

This week, Ellen and I chat with Sarah McNamara, Founder of Sarah McNamara Solutions a small business consultancy on a mission to get business leaders back on track by aligning their behind-the-scenes with their business dreams.

Despite never meeting before, Sarah and I discover that we have a lot in common and connect over the ins and outs of being the operational backbone for small businesses… most notably, we both identify as systems thinkers + translator generalists. Small world!

Give it a listen + follow below!

Want to be a guest on the podcast or submit a business question for us to tackle on air?

I am truly excited to be building community around creative small businesses, entrepreneurship, and authenticity.

Until next time - We got this! 🖤

Love from your friend,

Kat
