I dare you to take a look at your task list...

Plus - An official podcast announcement!

Hey there friends, colleagues, clients and collaborators - It’s your pal Kat, Owner + Operator of kat&co.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about tasks... to-do’s... reminders... You know, the things that keep your business moving forward.

Whether you are a solo-entrepreneur or have a mighty team behind you, task management remains a large part of our day-to-day. Despite the myriad of options out there for automation, outsourcing, or simplifying your list I believe it will exist in some form or another... There is no magic eraser and we will always have a collection of things on our list that we don’t like to do. Unfortunately, a necessary evil.

But… what really interests me are the internal decisions we make as business owners as to which tasks “SHOULD belong to us.

For me this shows up as things that I think I should know how to do… I will continue to move the task from one week to the next, feeling shame each time I look at its little unchecked bubble. If we dig further, this shame I hold over an innocent task boils down to a fear of being afraid to admit that I don’t know the best way to handle something, or that I have been doing something “wrong” for my business.

Instead of keeping myself in this cycle, I could instead reach out to my network for guidance, advice, or partnership to complete the task with me.

Deep, right?

Reflection: How does this task spiral show up for you in your business? Maybe you find yourself holding onto a part of your process that you already have a team in place to manage for you? Or, you could be ignoring a series of tasks that you know could be optimized, but don’t know where to start?

Whatever the case - know that you are not alone. Business ownership, management, and leadership is isolating! The more we practice voicing the things that bring us shame, the more we will be equipped to handle them.

Drop me a line if this resonates with you - I would be happy to talk it through together.

And now… an exciting announcement…
