Creative brains deserve better systems

I taught a workshop last week (and it went great!!)

Happy Friday, friends - It’s the first day of August! How?! What is time?

This time last week I was wrapping up a custom workshop through kat&co for one of my networking communities - Developing and leading workshops has been a large a goal of mine for 2025, and I am pleased to say it WENT GREAT! (phew)

The topic I chose truly represents who am I as a business owner, service provider, and lifelong creative:

✨ Designing Operations for Creative Brains

Sound familiar? Here are the takeaways that my attendees responded to the most:

1. Define your Creative Work Style

We all think differently, receive and provide information differently, and have different work style preferences… what are your unique work styles?

Example: Are you a visual or verbal communicator? What time of day do you feel most productive? What’s your preferred “pace of work?”

2. Define your Flexible Rituals

Using your answers from above… how does this information inform your recurring business “rituals”? Think - team meetings, client reviews, and of course, CREATIVE TIME.

Tip: Don’t be afraid to think outside of the M-F / 9-5 standard. Design your business to be in alignment with what works best for YOU and your team.

3. Define your Functional Systems

The goal here is to choose what makes sense to your brain and start small… you can always expand when the timing is right, and trial + error is ALWAYS ALLOWED.

Reminder: System DOES NOT always mean software… your “system” can be as simple as a check list, a template, or a calendar block.

〰️

Reflection: When you are in creative flow, what is happening around you? What would a perfect day / week / month in your business feel like? If you weren’t afraid of “failure”, what are some updates to your business operations that you would want to try out?

Interested in working together? Ready to schedule a call or refer someone my way?

Some beautiful blooms from my kitchen ✨

As we ease into the second half of the year, I would love to know: Where have you grown this year, what have you accomplished, and what are you proud of?

Send me an email and tell me about it! Let’s brag about ourselves to each other! We are doing the damn thing - and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! 🍷

〰️

I am truly excited to be building community around creative small businesses, entrepreneurship, and authenticity.

Until next time - We got this! 🖤

Love from your friend,

Kat
